Terms of service

Agreement

These terms govern your use of the ARC website (arc.buzz) and the ARC application for macOS (“ARC”, “the software”). By using the site, buying a license or running the software, you accept them. If you are using ARC on behalf of an organization, you accept them for that organization.

Your license

A license is a one-time purchase. It grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and run ARC on the Macs you personally use, for personal or internal business work, and includes every update we publish for as long as ARC exists. It does not grant the right to resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the software, or to remove license enforcement.

Your keys, your providers

ARC orchestrates AI agents and models that you connect with your own accounts and API keys — for example Claude, GPT or Gemini. Your use of those providers is governed by their terms, and charges from them are yours, billed by them. ARC is an independent product and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any model provider.

You hold the breaker

ARC runs agents locally and routes their work through approval gates you control. You are responsible for what you approve: the tasks you launch, the access you grant, and the changes agents make to your files, repositories and accounts under your instruction. Review agent output before you rely on it or ship it.

Acceptable use

Don’t use ARC to break the law, to infringe others’ rights, to interfere with systems you are not authorized to access, or to develop a competing product by copying the software. Don’t reverse engineer ARC except where the law expressly permits it.

Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Founders pricing is tied to a numbered license ledger — your price and license number are fixed at the moment of purchase and earlier tiers are not reopened. Because the price is a one-time founders rate, all sales are final and non-refundable once your license is active — a license becomes active the first time you activate it in the ARC app — except where a refund is required by law. One guarantee stands above that rule: if ARC never ships a public build, every license is refunded in full. Prices are in US dollars.

Warranty disclaimer

ARC is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Output produced by AI agents may be wrong; we do not warrant its accuracy.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ARC and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for lost data, lost profits or provider charges, arising from your use of the software. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Changes

We may revise these terms as ARC evolves. The current version always lives at arc.buzz/legal with its date at the top, and material changes will be noted on the site. Continuing to use ARC after a change means you accept the revised terms.

Privacy policy

The short version

ARC is local-first. Your prompts, code, files and API keys stay on your Mac — they are not sent to us, and we cannot see them. We collect the minimum needed to run a website, a mailing list and a checkout.

What we collect

Email address — if you join the list, we store the address you give us so we can send you the download link and product news.

Purchase details — when you buy a license, Stripe processes the payment and shares with us your email, your license number and the amount paid. We never receive your full card number.

Server logs — our hosting (AWS CloudFront) keeps standard access logs such as IP address, user agent and pages requested, used only for security and keeping the site up.

What we don't collect

The ARC app sends no telemetry by default. We do not collect your prompts, your code, your repositories, your agent transcripts or your provider keys. If we ever add optional, opt-in diagnostics, this policy will say so first.

Cookies

arc.buzz sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Stripe may set cookies on its own checkout pages to run the payment and prevent fraud.

Where your data lives

The site and mailing list run on Amazon Web Services; payments run on Stripe. Both process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not sell your data, and we share it with no one else unless the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email hello@arc.buzz and we will act on it. Every mailing we send includes a way to unsubscribe. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK or California), these rights may also be backed by local law.

Children

ARC is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
